چکیده

The urban metabolism of Metropolitan Lima, the largest agglomeration in Peru, which has recently surpassed 10 million inhabitants, was analyzed this study. This coastal megacity, located within Rimac, Chillón, and Lurin watersheds constitutes socioeconomic center country is hub main import export routes. A multi-layer approach used to explore material energy flows Peruvian capital for a 10-year timeframe. Results show that 2006 GDP 49 districts shape metropolitan area Lima 105.2 billion USD-PPP, while 2014 it reached about 200 USD-PPP. Based on growth, we highlight energy, electricity water experienced linear increase with respect GDP, being consumption years 2006, 2011 2014, 7295, 10,112, 11,465 GWh, respectively. Regarding demographics, population growth ratios (650%), (400%), solid waste production (250%), (100%) confirm results super scaling found by Kennedy et al. ( 2015 ) other megacities. Finally, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions computed following an important shift primary sources produce electricity. most change linked from hydropower natural gas, trend initiated 2006. For instance, 2001 79% total came hydropower, whereas 69% gas. produced GHG more than 200% when compared generation mix 2001. Following these results, strongly encourage policies decarbonization sector, as well mobility infrastructures, e.g., electric public transport progressive toward mobility.

Top-down approaches for sharing GHG emission reductions

To reduce GHG emissions, the 27 European Union Member States committed themselves in 2007 to reduce emissions from 1990 levels by 20% by 2020. In January 2008, the EU Commission gave the first country-specific proposals to reduce emissions in sectors outside the EU emission trading system (non-ETS). In this study, we looked at several ways of sharing emission reductions in the non-ETS sector. W...

Quantifying Air and GHG Emission Reductions from Clean Energy Measures

Basic approaches typically include spreadsheet-based analyses that use emissions factor relationships or other assumptions to estimate reductions. Sophisticated approaches are usually more complex and involve dynamic electricity or energy system representations that predict energy generation responses to policies and calculate the effects on emissions.* 4.2.2 QUANTIFY AIR AND GHG EMISSION REDUC...

Sharing the Burden of GHG Reductions

The G8 countries propose a goal of a 50% reduction in global emissions by 2050, in an effort that needs to take account of other agreements specifying that developing countries are to be provided with incentives to action and protected from the impact of measures taken by others. To help inform international negotiations of measures to achieve these goals we develop a technique for endogenously...
